W.H.The Employee of The Month for October is Melissa Hall! Melissa is a Project Manager for the roofing division at WHDemmons, and started with the company in July of 2021. Melissa grew up in Maine, and has been in the construction industry since she was 21 years old.
As project manager, Melissa is in charge of a number of project aspects that all have to be completed on a particular timeline. These responsibilities include (but are not limited to) ordering the materials for the jobs, handling costs to stay on a budget, invoicing and billing, and scheduling manpower for the job sites to be sure the projects will be completed on time.
Surprisingly, even with Melissa’s extensive knowledge and background, she still experiences gender prejudices working as a female project manager in the construction industry.
Melissa and her husband spend every free moment they can fishing at Great Pond, Belgrade Lakes, and St. George in Liberty, Maine. They have a fishing and ski boat that their family uses; waterskiing was her dad’s specialty!
